To start a food business, It is essential to have a Food license for every Food Business Operators (FBOs). In India, there is Food Licence Authority called The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). What is Food License ?
An FSSAI Food License is the permission to run any Food-related business with rules and regulations of The FSSAI. Every eligible food business operator must get an FSSAI Food License before starting any food business in India.
Who is the FSSAI License Consultant?
An FSSAI License Consultant is an FSSAI Food License Agent or consultant who may help FBO in getting a Food License without any hassles. He will consult you, direct you and help you in documentation process of getting an FSSAI Licence.
The procedure for obtaining a license:
1. Application for License shall be made in FORM B to the concerned central licensing authority or the state licensing authority, based on the eligibility criteria for the food business.
2. The application shall be accompanied by a self-attested declaration in the specified format declaring that he conforms/shall conform to the Food Safety and Standards Act,Regulations/Bye Laws and shall follow the guidelines on Hygiene and Sanitary Practices provided under Schedule – 4 of the Registration and Licensing Regulations, along with the requisite documents and requisite license fee.
3. The FSSAI Authorities will inspect your food business.
4. The license shall be issued by the concerned licensing authority within a period of 60 days.
5. After the 60 days of submission of the application, The FBO has not received any intimation in this regard the applicant may commence his food business without waiting for further communication.

- Aadhaar Card/ Voter identity card of Proprietor/Partners/Director
- Property papers (If owned property)
- Rent agreement (If rented property)
- Partnership Deed (In case of Partnership)
- Declaration form.
- Authority letters with name and address of responsible person
- Electricity / Water /Telephone / Mobile bill of business place
- Form IX: Nomination of Persons by a Company along with the Board Resolution
- Food Safety Management System plan or certificate
- MOA/AOA (In case of company)
